Having no Dak Prescott around has certainly been rough to say the least.
The Dallas Cowboys are 0-3 since Andy Dalton and Ben DiNucci have taken over. Those losses include being outscored 86-22 by the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Football Team, and Philadelphia Eagles.
It’s been a disaster, but one stat is taking over social media. The Cowboys have scored more points in Prescott’s final fourth quarter (24) than they have in three games combined without him (22).
DiNucci was actually one of the lone positives as he completed over 50% of his passes for 180 yards. However, DiNucci couldn’t find the endzone as the Cowboys lost 23-9 to the Philadelphia Eagles to fall to 2-6 on the season.
In the game, DiNucci recorded two fumbles to bring his total to four this season. According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, DiNucci acknowledged that he made too many mistakes.
“We had a few good drives, got past the 50 and then one thing or another stalled us out,” DiNucci said. “I had two fumbles, had some penalties, some pre snap penalties. That stuff is on me. I’ve got to clean that up. This NFL thing, it’s hard. These teams are good. It’s a battle every single week.”
Andy Dalton is poised to make his return to the team next Sunday against the 7-0 Pittsburgh Steelers. The team appears to have quit and with the loss, the Cowboys are now 1.5 games out first place in the NFC East.
The real question is how much longer will Mike McCarthy keep his job? Or Mike Nolan? The franchise needs some form of change, but what and when will that be?
