Big Ben says Steelers are better than “America’s Team”

Ben Roethlisberger called out the attendance record.

The Cowboys posted an impressive attendance number on Sunday with 31,700 fans in attendance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to Big Ben, most of those fans were there to support the Steelers.

“If you didn’t know who America’s team was, you should’ve seen the stands and all the Terrible Towels,” Big Ben told reporters following the win, via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. “Dallas may be America’s team, but we’re the world’s team, because we’ve got fans everywhere and they’re the best in the world.”

Fans who made the trip walked away happy as the undefeated 8-0 Steelers took care of the Cowboys 24-19. It was a closely contested contest until Eric Ebron scored the go-ahead eight-yard touchdown in the closing minutes.

The Dallas defense surprised many by keeping the Steelers at bay. It was a game that featured the team’s fourth quarterback this season. Garrett Gilbert threw for 243 yards and one touchdown, but it was not enough.

Roethilisberger jumped to the defense of the Cowboys after the game.

“That’s a good team,” Roethlisberger said, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I don’t care what their record says. That might be the best pass rush defense that got after us. I give them a lot of credit.”

Both franchises have major fan bases. The two franchises combine for 11 Super Bowl titles with the Steelers slightly leading with six. Next year, both stadiums will be full, no doubt about it.

For now, fans can only watch the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL do their thing at home.
