Mike McCarthy lives and breathes football. We don’t think so. You need to hear what the Dallas Cowboys head coach had to say ahead of Thursday night’s Hall of Fame Game.
McCarthy appeared the most happy he has ever been during an interview with Erin Andrews from FOX Sports. His enthusiasm was also viral. Andrews asked McCarthy, the Cowboys’ head coach, what it was like to play football again Thursday night. McCarthy’s response was quite funny.
It’s amazing. It’s true football. It smells like football,” McCarthy said ahead of Thursday’s Hall of Fame Game, via FOX Sports: NFL. We’ve had a wonderful camp. Full crowd. It’s an amazing night!”
It was quite funny. Have a look.

Mike McCarthy is a complete football guy. Like the rest of us, he is overjoyed that football is back.
The NFL’s preseason was rushed. The Tokyo Olympics and a later-than-usual NBA Season are likely major reasons. We aren’t complaining. For the remainder of the year, there will be football every week.
The NFL will continue with the preseason for several weeks before the actual season begins on Thursday, September 9. College football starts the week of August 28th with Week Zero. College football’s Week 1 starts the next Thursday with 16 games on Sept. 2, eight games on Sept. 3, and the usual schedule of games on Saturday.
Football is here to stay. McCarthy is not wrong to be excited about football.
