ESPN insider Adam Schefter dropped a bombshell report regarding Dak Prescott during last night’s halftime show for the Cardinals-Chiefs game, and it should have Dallas Cowboys awfully concerned heading into Week 1.
Schefter isn’t sure Prescott will return to full strength because of the lingering shoulder injury. Schefter stated that Prescott is not 100% back and may not be able to play the entire season.
Schefter’s timing is very interesting. Mike McCarthy, Cowboys’ head coach, suggested earlier this week that Prescott’s practice workload would increase in the coming days.
“To be completely honest, we trust the training staff on that one. They’re counting every throw,” McCarthy said. This is endurance and volume regulation. This has a big-picture perspective. He will be participating in some type of practice beyond this week. “I can’t stand there and say he’d be complete, go take all the reps.
Prescott may just be able to bear the pain for this season. Prescott may not be “fully back” but he shouldn’t increase his workload or place more stress on him.
Dak Prescott may not be "fully back" all season as he deals with last year's ankle injury and his recent shoulder strain, per @AdamSchefter

The Cowboys are just weeks away from their season opener. Now is the time for Prescott’s coaching staff to make a decision.
Prescott doesn’t seem likely to be able to attend Dallas’ Week 1 matchup against Tampa Bay. It’s not clear if he will be able to succeed.
