Dak Prescott is expected to play with the Dallas Cowboys this Thursday, despite a minor shoulder injury that he sustained earlier in the summer. Another sign on Monday indicated that Prescott, 28, should be available for kick-off.
The Cowboys listed Prescott as a full participant in Monday’s practice, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Dallas coaching staff has been cautious about their starting quarterback for the past few weeks. But with three days until the game, it was time for Prescott to be given the green light.
Prescott has been the Cowboys’ talk since a minor shoulder strain temporarily slowed his full-time recovery from last year’s serious leg injury. Although Prescott’s throwing arm was not injured, the Cowboys claimed that it wasn’t a significant problem. However, fans began to worry when he missed more than expected.
Prescott reportedly made some significant improvements in the past two weeks, and the Cowboys’ confidence did not waver. Prescott, 28, is now ready to return to the field after his shoulder injury.

Prescott will face other challenges heading into Thursday’s match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys won’t have their starting right guard Zack Martin, who was positive for COVID-19. This is a huge blow to the Cowboys’ offensive line. Dallas’s quarterback must be ready to take on constant pressure due to the Bucs’ fearsome pass rush.
Prescott’s health will be a subject of much debate in the days ahead. He can only prove he is close to 100 percent by showing up on the field Thursday.
The Cowboys-Buccaneers 2021 season opener will get underway at 8:20 p.m. ET at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium.
