The Cowboys trailed Denver by 30 points midway through the fourth period of Sunday’s match against Denver. Dak Prescott was Dallas’ star quarterback, but he’s been recovering from a calf injury. He remained in game. Mike McCarthy, the head coach, rode Prescott through the fourth quarter.
Mike Greenberg, host ESPN’s Get Up, was furious at McCarthy’s decision not to keep Prescott on field.
.@espngreeny goes OFF on the decision to keep Dak Prescott in the game for the last quarter against the Broncos 😶
“It is RIDICULOUS to have Dak Prescott in that game down 30-nothing with a bad calf and six minutes left!” pic.twitter.com/luUKRz9H0p

Greenberg rants Tuesday morning, “This is steadfastly absurd to me.” “A quarterback who is among the most highly paid and the best in the league needed more reps…what the hell are we talking about?” It’s over. Get him out.
Although Prescott didn’t decide to leave the game, Dallas’ injury-prone leader, Dak, was not interested in watching from the sidelines.
“It was a game that had to be played,” Prescott stated Sunday. “It never crossed me mind that I was leaving the game. “I think that if someone tried to make this decision, I would have said I wasn’t.”
Prescott made the most of the fourth quarter by tossing two garbage-time touchdowns to receiver Malik Turner. Prescott completed 13 of 20 passes for 153 yards on his team’s two last drives. As ESPN’s Field Yates noted, Prescott’s 8-year streak of home games with at least 35 points was broken by the Broncos.
The Cowboys entered today with 8 straight home games scoring at least 35 points with Dak Prescott as their starting QB, the longest such streak in NFL history, per @EliasSports.
The Broncos held them scoreless until the fourth quarter, allowing only 2 meaningless TD. Domination.

“We had to do something in the fourth quarter ],” Prescott stated. We needed some energy and momentum. It was important to demonstrate our fighting spirit, our resilience, which has won us many games. You have to be strong when you are being beaten like that.
