Micah Parsons has been everything the Dallas Cowboys could have hoped for over 11 weeks.
The Penn State standout was drafted by Dallas to play the middle at linebacker. However, the Cowboys moved Parson to the edge out of necessity. They may have also unlocked something.
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback, certainly noticed. After Sunday’s victory, Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes gave Micah Parsons high praise.
“[Michah Parsons] is a special player,” Mahomes told reporters. “To be that good of a [linbebacker] and be able to play [defensive end],” he said. “There’s not a lot of guys like that in this league.”
Patrick Mahomes: Micah Parsons is “a special player. To be that good of a LB and be able to play DE, there’s not a lot of guys like that in this league. He has a high motor, he chased me down on that sack … The whole game, he was in there the whole time battling and battling.”

Parsons tied Demarcus Warse’s Cowboys record of most rookie sacks on Sunday. Parsons has amassed 62 tackles in 10 games and eight sacks. He also forced two fumbles.

It’s difficult to believe that Parson’s was a consolation prize for Dallas this year’s draft. Before Denver grabbed the star corner from Alabama, the Cowboys had Patrick Surtain I as their target.
You won’t likely hear from Jerry Jones or his staff any complaints.
Micah Parsons is the frontrunner to be Defensive Rookie Of The Year. If this trend continues, Parsons could also be considered for Defensive Player Of The Year.
