The Seahawks-Colts trade for Star Receiver that gets Seattle to the Super Bowl

He  is one of the best deep ball threats in the game, but won’t get to show that off with Phillip Rivers throwing to him.

Hilton is set to become a free agent after the 2020 season. The 30-year-old receiver has been a dependable option for the Colts, but if the Seattle Seahawks could pry him away from Indy, quarterback Russell Wilson would be set.

Heck, it might be enough for the Seahawks to make a Super Bowl run.

The NFC West division is shaping up to be one of the most competitive divisions in football. The San Francisco 49ers made the Super Bowl last year. The Seahawks have an MVP-like quarterback, as well as pieces on the offensive and defensive side.

The Los Angeles Rams made the Super Bowl two years ago. Despite dealing Brandin Cooks and releasing Todd Gurley, the team should still be competing in the game. Of course, there’s the Arizona Cardinals who finished last in 2019, but have the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in quarterback Kyler Murray and just traded for DeAndre Hopkins.

The Seahawks have Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, but facing those quality teams twice a year will be tough. Wilson needs all the help he can get.

The Seahawks have two second round picks (No. 59 and No. 64) as well as a third-round pick (No. 101). Hilton is set to make $14.5 million in 2020, and hasn’t led on that is he going to sign an extension with the Colts. If the Colts were willing to take on some of Hilton’s money, the team could ask for a second and third round pick to get the deal done.

Hilton has missed eight games over the last two seasons, but when healthy, he puts up 1,000 yards.

It’s unlikely that this will happen, but it makes sense. Given that the Colts are all-in on Rivers this season, don’t expect any alerts from ESPN.
