Dallas Cowboys rookie defensive linebacker Micah Parsons has quickly become a top defender for the team and has got everyone talking – even head coach Mike McCarthy.
McCarthy spoke to the media Friday and expressed high praises for the former No. 12th overall pick. He claimed that he is so elusive at avoiding blockers that it reminds him of Barry Sanders.
“I’m never surprised because he’s so natural. He’s almost like Barry Sanders in there when he’s avoiding blocks. They can’t get their hands on him,” McCarthy said.
This is a remarkable praise for any player in any position. Sanders is widely regarded as one of the most important players of all time, and many of his fans believe that he is the best running back of all time.
Parsons is quickly gaining all the praise he deserves – and more.

Micah Parsons’ 12 games have seen him record 72 tackles, 25 QB hits and a league-leading 16 tackles. He also has two passes defended, two forced fumbles and two passes defended. He is a strong candidate to be Defensive Rookie Of The Year, and could even receive a Pro Bowl nod.
Parsons was a dynamic and playmaking linebacker who graduated from Penn State. Parsons was the obvious choice to be the first linebacker on the board. However, he quickly exceeded all expectations.
Cowboys could have a star player and someone who could become a key part of their defense for many years.
