After breaking his foot in the Cowboys’ first game, veteran pass rusher DeMarcus Larry missed 10 consecutive games before making his return to the Cowboys last night against the New Orleans Saints.
The star defensive end played more than half of the defensive snaps. He had three tackles, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Lawrence responded to Dallas’ win 27-17 in a postgame conference.
Lawrence stated, “It was electric,” “It was amazing to just play with these guys at their level and to have some impact on the game. It’s a great feeling to be back. It’s a great feeling to be able to play the game I love. We are happy to have won.”
Dan Quinn, defensive coordinator, said that he expected Lawrence would show some rust after missing so much. However, after last night’s performance, Quinn concluded that Lawrence did not show any rust. Calvin Watkins from the Dallas Morning News reported that Quinn expected this.
Lawrence will be looking to continue his return to action next week with a division matchup against Washington Football Team.
