This season, the Dallas Cowboys defense has been one that is dominating football. Ryan Clark, an ESPN analyst, said that the offense must step up if Dallas is to be a contender for a Super Bowl.
Clark spoke on ESPN’s Get Up Monday about the Cowboys defense’s success. He also voiced his dismay at the offense, particularly with Dak Prescott. If Dallas is to play in February, Prescott and the offense must improve, he said.

Clark stated that “early on in the season, we believed the offense would carry this team.” “We believed that Dak Prescott would play at an MVP level, and this is why we think this team will be a contender for the championship. When you consider what Micah Parsons and Dan Quinn have done to improve this defense, it is clear that this defense is the reason this team can win football games. Micah Parsons is the Defensive Player Of The Year candidate. Trevon Diggs is also a contender. You could also rush the passer with DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory back in good health.
“But the bottom line remains this. Championships are what judge the Dallas Cowboys. It has been over a quarter century since the Cowboys have had the chance to win one. Dak Prescott, who is playing football right now, can’t win a championship. They can’t be a Super Bowl team.. We’ll continue to have the same conversation about the Cowboys that we had years ago, even if the situation doesn’t change. They will be at home, watching the Super Bowl together.”
A great defensive effort was a key factor in the Cowboys’ victory over Washington Football Team on Sunday, 27-20. They forced three fumbles including a score and scoop in the first quarter and intercepted Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke one time.
Quinn has done a great job of turning around the Cowboys’ defense. Dallas is the NFL’s leader with 20 interceptions. Diggs has nine. Clark stated that the Cowboys’ defense is the main reason they are first in the NFC East. They will continue to be part of the Super Bowl conversation.
Dallas’ win Sunday saw it move to 9-4 and extend its lead over Washington Football Team in NFC East. The Cowboys will face the New York Giants on Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. ET.
