Last season, Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy hasn’t the easiest start. He quickly changed things in 2021 and his team is on its way to the playoffs within a few weeks.
McCarthy has made significant leaps during his second year as Cowboys’ head coach. Jerry Jones believes it’s time for McCarthy’s head coach to take his props.
Jones appeared on Tuesday’s radio show and praised McCathy’s efforts following a 56-14 win for the Washington Football Team.
“He is the difference-maker, and that needs to be recognized,” Jones said of McCarthy on 105.3 The Fan, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “I’m really proud of him.”

This past Sunday, the Cowboys proved to be a formidable team against their NFC East counterparts. Dak Prescott had one of his best seasons and Taylor Heinicke was unable to believe Dallas’ defense.
McCarthy’s record improved to 17-14 with Dallas as Cowboys head coach. Dallas won the NFC East division title. Although the team was unable to win a first round bye, they secured home-field advantage for at most one playoff game.
McCarthy’s contribution to the Cowboys’ success this season has been significant, but his performance in the postseason will be a key factor. Dallas has a difficult road ahead of him to overcome the NFC’s talented players. McCarthy will need to provide a consistent coaching performance week after week to be able to contend for a conference championship and a Super Bowl.
It doesn’t matter what happens in the playoffs. He sounds like he has earned the respect of Cowboys owner going ahead.
