The Dallas Cowboys are still looking for that third wide receiver.
After losing Randall Cobb to the Houston Texans, the Cowboys have been linked to the trade market. Carolina Panthers wideout Curtis Samuel has been a hot topic, but the Cowboys have another target on their mind.
According to Cowboys insider Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys are looking at both Arizona Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk and San Francisco 49ers receiver Marquise Goodwin.
Kirk would be the better option. He is just 23-years old and is coming off a season that featured 709 receiving yards. The former Texas A&M standout did all of this with rookie Kyler Murray throwing the ball to him.
As for Goodwin, he is 29-years old and is coming off season-ending surgery that ended his 2019 season. He lasted just nine games. In 2017, Goodwin finished with 962 yards, but his best season since then was two years ago, which featured 431 yards. His stats are less than exciting.
Landing Goodwin seems more likely, as his time in San Francisco seems all but up. For Kirk, it’s questionable why the Cardinals would deal him. After dealing for DeAndre Hopkins, and at just 23, the Cardinals could seem themselves on the rise.
The Cardinals would likely ask for at least a first-rounder and then probably balk at third-round or less. Both would alleviate pressure off Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. As for Goodwin, he would probably cost just a sixth or seventh round pick.
We’ll just have to wait until the draft.
