DeMarcus Lawrence, defensive end, sees that Dak Prescott will be able to rise to the occasion in the NFC wild card clash with the San Francisco 49ers. Although there are many doubts about his ability to do so, Lawrence believes that the veteran passer will put an end the critics.
Lawrence gave his approval to Prescott during a media conference before the Cowboys’ highly-anticipated matchup against the 49ers.
“I believe Dak’s going to own the moment,” Lawrence said. “He’s going to show y’all what he really is about and going to take this playoffs by storm.”
Prescott has not been in the playoffs for three years. In the NFC divisional round against the Los Angeles Rams, he threw one touchdown pass and had a 99.2 passer rating. Although he had his moments with the Seattle Seahawks in the first game, Dallas won the matchup.
Prescott’s critics continue to say that he doesn’t have the ability to lead the Cowboys in crucial wins. He stopped such comments over the regular season. This included his three touchdown outings against the New England Patriots, and Philadelphia Eagles. He also scored two game-winning drives during regular season play.
The Cowboys are expecting to win a home victory over the 49ers and to make a deep run in the playoffs. To do that, they may have to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Los Angeles Rams this month.
Prescott must first take care of business against the 49ers defense, which ranked third in yards per game during the regular season with a 310.0 average.
