Reasons why this was the best draft Jerry Jones has ever done.

Now that the full draft is completely over, the Cowboys can be judged.

That overall grade might be the best that Jerry Jones has ever done. Nearly all major news outlets believe that the Cowboys owner crushed the draft. But first, take a look at the recently released rankings for the undrafted pool of free agents.

According to Arif Hasan of The Athletic, the Cowboys signed the No. 15 and No. 25 best undrafted free agents. That includes Utah linebacker Francis Bernard and Texas Tech offensive tackle Terence Steele.

According to the experts, the brass in Dallas crushed the 2020 NFL Draft.

Jones snagged Lamb with the No. 17 overall pick, but also added two defensive backs, two defensive lineman, a center, and a quarterback in the seventh round. He even pulled off a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to move up and take Wisconsin’s center Tyler Biadasz for basically nothing.

When grading the Philadelphia Eagles, Texas beat writer and ESPN contributor Tim Cowlishaw agreed the Cowboys had the better draft.

“Eagles had better FA period, Cowboys had better draft, the QB debate will be ongoing (I lean barely towards Wentz when healthy but that seldom lasts) and I just hope we get to see the answers in something approaching a normal setting this fall.”

Not to mention, nearly every major media outlet gave the Cowboys an “A” for their efforts. Bleacher Report was the only site that gave the Cowboys a “B.”

The picks by the Cowboys were as followed:

  • Pick 17: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
  • Pick 51: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
  • Pick 82: Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
  • Pick 123: Reggie Robinson II, CB, Tulsa
  • Pick 146: Tyler Biadasz, C, Wisconsin
  • Pick 179: Bradlee Anae, DE, Utah
  • Pick 231: Ben DiNucci, QB, James Madison

When diving in, it’s really not a bad haul, and having the nice report card looks pretty good too.
