The Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott put in a strong 2021 season but it was not without injuries.
Prescott made 16 starts last season after a dislocated ankle caused by a terrible accident. Prescott missed one game because of a strained leg, and it was apparent that the problem continued to bother him even after he returned to the lineup.
Prescott’s statements to reporters today should be encouraging for Cowboys fans. Seventh-year pro Prescott says he doesn’t have any restrictions and feels “great”.
Prescott stated, via Jon Machota, The Athletic, “This is my healthiest in a long, very long time.”
Prescott said this not the first time he felt different in the offseason.
He indicated last month that after back-to-back leg injuries, a lat strain during training camp 2021, and recent surgery on his nonthrowing shoulder, it was finally possible to focus on his game rather than trying to heal.
“I’m not rehabbing one thing. I’m working on my whole body,” Prescott said. “From my foot speed, it’s not just putting this down. Now it’s, ‘Can I get this thing faster than they’ve ever been?’ It’s about improving on the person and player I was before the injury now and being the best player I can be for this organization.”
