According to reports, the Dallas Cowboys may be considering using running back Tony Pollard as a wide receiver for this season. He has been getting some reps at wideout during OTAs.
Pollard seems to be perfectly fine if he needs to make the change.
Ezekiel Elliott is the Cowboys running back. Many Dallas fans wanted a change in the position of tailback last year. For much of the year, Pollard was the better player. He was explosive and made a lot of plays for the Cowboys, both in rushing and receiving.

Elliott did not run for 52 yards in any of Dallas’ 17 playoff games in 2021. For many years, he has been among the league’s top carries and touches. One has to wonder if he is finally getting tired of it all. He is still owed over $50 million on his current contract. Dallas seems to have no choice but to play the former All-Pro.
If they want Pollard to go wideout, it makes sense. This is the only way Pollard can get meaningful snaps or touches.
Dallas Cowboys are being criticized for their offseason. In free agency, they lost Amari Cooper, a former wide receiver for the Pro Bowl, to the Cleveland Browns. Randy Gregory , an edge rusher, also left town and headed to the Denver Broncos.
Their draft was also considered one of the weakest in the NFL. Both the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles will be competing for the NFC East title. Pollard will likely be an integral part of Dallas becoming the first team in that division to win it back-to-back since 2003.
