According to reports, the Kansas City Chiefs signed a former first-round pick, in order to increase their defensive line depth for the 2022 season.
The Browns selected Shelton with the 12th overall selection in the 2015 draft. The former Washington star turned professional bounced around the league, joining the Patriots, Lions, and most recently, the New York Giants.

Shelton played 13 games in 2021 with the Giants and recorded 31 tackles. He had a career-high 59 tackles and 1.5sacks in 2016, his Browns debut season.
The signing of Shelton to the Chiefs follows Shelton’s workout with one of their division opponents. The 28-year old defensive tackle was in Las Vegas to work out with the Raiders on Monday. He recently visited the Carolina Panthers.
Shelton will be a backup to Chief Derrick Nnadi and Chris Jones, Pro-Bowl’s fifth-year Chief.
