Mike Tomlin is yet to decide who will be the Steelers’ starting quarterback this season.
After the first few weeks of training camp, Mitch Trubisky was named the QB1. However, he has not played in any preseason games. This Saturday, the Steelers will take on the Seattle Seahawks in Acrisure Stadium.
Tomlin spoke with CBS HQ Tuesday to say that Trubisky’s recent play was strong, but each quarterback is still an option for Week 1.
Tomlin stated that “they’re making it difficult” because “it’s tough to manage 3 capable men, but they’re forcing it because they make the necessary plays. They anticipate, they have good timing and accuracy.
As camp progresses, both Rudolph and Pickett have become stronger. Although Rudolph was not given much chance by the majority of the fanbase, he is currently QB2 on depth chart.
Each of the three players will get plenty of playing time during the preseason, so Tomlin can pick a starter.
This fight could be close.
