Antonio Brown, a retired wide receiver in the NFL, was asked last week by TMZ Sports about a possible return to the gridiron.
His response?
“Tell Jerry Jones to contact me!”
TMZ Sports continued to follow up with Jones on Thursday. The Dallas Cowboys’ long-time owner quickly dismissed the idea and stated that he wanted to give younger wideouts an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Jones stated that AB’s interest was “good”. “But, we want these young men a real opportunity to compete.”

Although it is unlikely that Antonio Brown will be available, the Cowboys need depth at the wide receiver position.
The Cowboys will be without Amari Cooper, WR1 and the Cowboys’ James Washington for their 2022 season. CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys’ lead wideout, is currently undergoing minor foot surgery.
Jones refers to third-round rookie Jalen Tolbert, undrafted wideout Dennis Houston, and reigning USFL MVP KaVontae Torpin as “young guys”.
Brown had logged 545 yards with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and four touchdowns before his viral exit from the NFL in 2021.
