Chiefs were in trouble on Wednesday when wide receiver Mecole Hartman left practice on a hospital cart.
Hardman was injured after landing awkwardly when trying to catch a pass. This happened during practice’s red zone section.
Just moments ago, Ian Rapoport from NFL Network provided an update about Hardman’s injury.
Hardman was injured in his groin and he had to leave practice. His injury was not yet known.
Kansas City’s good news is that Hardman was able walk off the field. He may have avoided a serious injury.
#Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman, who exited practice early today, is being evaluated for a groin injury, source said. The severity is unclear, but Hardman being able to walk off the field (before jumping on a cart to head into the building) was a good sign.

Hardman will play an important role in Kansas City’s offense, especially since Tyreek Hill is no longer on the roster.
Hardman stated that there was “definitely opportunity,” before the training camp began. “A Tyreek player with so many targets, it seems like there are a lot to choose from. We have a great group of receivers, so it’s going to be a good season to learn a bit more and to just enjoy the moment and take full advantage of it.
Hardman caught 59 passes for 693 yards last season and scored two touchdowns.
The status of Hardman for Week 1 is currently in doubt.
