The Dallas Cowboys may be able to sign a veteran tackle free of charge.
Dallas has depth problems at this position, as there isn’t much behind Tyron Smith or Terence Steele. Matt Waletzko was supposed to be Steeleās backup but he has a shoulder injury which could end his rookie year.
Cowboys Country’s Mike Fisher believes that Eric Fisher would make a great addition to Dallas, as he could be an upgrade over Josh Ball and Waletzko.
“Isn’t it obvious that Eric Fisher – once the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, who played eight seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and was in the Pro Bowl as recently as 2020 – is an upgrade over Ball? And over Waletzko? And maybe even still talented enough to in theory even push Steele?”Ā Fisher wrote.
After being released by the Chiefs in March last year, Fisher was signed to the Indianapolis Colts. Before his contract expired, Fisher signed a $8.4 million one-year deal with the Colts.
Dallas can get him for about the same price or slightly less if they wish.
We will have to wait and see if Jerry Jones is interested in Fisher before the season begins.
