The 2022 football season has seen its first major quarterback injury. It’s now that people can start suggesting that Colin Kaepernick, a free agent quarterback, be considered for a job.
Kaepernick isn’t the solution for a Dallas Cowboys legend who faces the possibility of missing half the season without Dak Prescott.
Stephen A. Smith suggested Monday’s FirstTake that the Cowboys give Kaepernick another chance. First Take host Michael Irvin didn’t hear any of it however.
“Let’s stop with this Colin Kaepernick stuff. Let’s just stop. Colin Kaepernick’s been out of football for what five years now,” Irvin said. “Come on, man. Let’s stop all of a sudden thinking we can go resurrect Colin Kaepernick and he’s going to come and resurrect a football team.”
Irvin repeatedly stated that he would prefer Cooper Rush to be his starter over Kaepernick. He pointed out that Rush was the Cowboys’ winning team against the Vikings after Dak Prescott was hurt for one game last season.
“I’ll take my chances with Cooper Rush. I will take my chances with Cooper Rush. I saw Cooper Rush win a football game last year. That’s all I’m saying.”
I'm thrilled to share that @KaepernickPub & @Scholastic will be publishing professional hockey player @Dreamer_Aliu78’s graphic memoir, DREAMER, on Feb. 7, 2023!
What an honor to help bring Akim Aliu's inspiring story to readers everywhere!

Colin Kaepernick finally had his chance to try out for the NFL without the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. It didn’t result in a contract.
Kaepernick, who hasn’t played in an NFL match since 2016, is now 34 years old and may not have much to offer.
No matter what your feelings about Colin Kaepernick’s character, it’s difficult to see him as the quarterback solution for any team, regardless of their passing situation.
