CeeDee Lamb, a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, was stopped by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ determined defense. He caught just two passes for 29 yard last Sunday.
Jerry Jones, Cowboys owner, was interviewed by 105.3 The Fan on Friday about Lamb’s poor performance in Week 1.
Jones’ recent comment on Lamb is quite telling. Let’s just say that Jones expects more from the Oklahoma product.
“You got to play through being covered,” Jones said of Lamb. “You got to catch balls covered. You say, ‘Well, that’s a trite things to say,’ but you can’t just because they doubled you up, not make some plays.”

Lamb finished the 2021 season in Dallas with 79 receptions, 1,102 yards and six touchdowns.
The Cowboys were without a lot of offense firepower this offseason. Cedrick Wilson Jr. was traded to the Miami Dolphins, and Amari Cooper was traded to the Cleveland Browns. Lamb will have to take on more responsibility as the team’s receivers with them not being on the roster.
Lamb should feel less pressure due to Michael Gallup’s eventual comeback. It doesn’t seem like he’s ready for his 2022 season debut yet.
