At his Friday press conference, Mike McCarthy, Dallas Cowboys’ head coach was all smiles. It was likely because of his update on quarterback Dak Preston.
McCarthy arrived at Friday’s press conference in a suit and tie that he wore earlier in the day for a TV interview. There was a lot of good news regarding the injury.
He began by announcing that Michael Gallup, the star wide receiver, is doing well and could play on Sunday. He saved the best for his last: Dak will throw again.
McCarthy stated that Dak participated in some light throwing activities with the team on Thursday. He is still battling swelling in his hand so he will not play against the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

Dak Prescott sustained a severe hand injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. Some feared that it would prevent him from playing for up to a month. The Cowboys are able to continue their season without Prescott.
Dak’s absence has seen backup quarterback Cooper Rush go 2-0, managing the game to give the Cowboys crucial wins over the Cincinnati Bengals (NY Giants) and the New York Giants.
Mike McCarthy says it is only a matter time before Dak returns to the fold and leads the Cowboys again.
When will Dak Prescott return to full health?
