The Dallas Cowboys have been elevating quarterback Will Grier to active roster for the last three weeks. The front office was unable to make that move on Grier so it officially signed him.
Michael Gehlken, of the Dallas Morning News, reported that Grier was signed to the 53-man roster.
“He will be No. 2 quarterback this Sunday at Rams behind Cooper Rush with Dak Prescott (thumb) missing a fourth straight game,” Gehlken said. “Grier was out of standard elevations.”
Grier, a former third round pick from West Virginia who started his career with Carolina Panthers. In September 2021, the Cowboys claimed Grier off waivers.

Grier will be the Cowboys’ backup quarterback until Dak Prescott recovers from his thumb injury.
Cooper Rush will, however, continue to lead the first-team offense. He is 3-0 with 737 passing yards and four touchdowns, as well as zero interceptions.
This weekend, the Cowboys will take on the Los Angeles Rams in a crucial NFC showdown.
