Dak Prescott intends to be back behind the center for Week 7, against the Lions. However, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones didn’t agree with that plan.
Jones stated that no decision has been made regarding Dak’s status as of now, speaking on 105.3 ” the Fan”.
“Well, that still remains to be seen. Obviously seeing where Dak is feeling really good about himself, that’s the most important thing of all is that he feels like he can throw the ball the way he needs to throw it to be successful. Certainly we’ll see what the week brings and see if he’ll be able to be consistent this week with how he feels with that thumb and we’ll go from there. But, again, I can’t say enough about Cooper Rush.”
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones was asked on @1053thefan if last night was Cooper Rush’s last start: “That still remains to be seen. … We’ll see what the week brings. See if (Dak Prescott) is able to be consistent this week with how he feels with that thumb and we’ll go from there.”

Dak missed five of his last five games due to a fractured thumb. Thanks to Cooper Rush’s steady play, Dallas was 4-1 during that stretch.
However, the Cowboys’ performance on Sunday night was likely to have provided some clarity as Rush threw three interceptions during the 27-16 loss.
