Cowboys predicted to be NFC’s #1 seed, but still don’t get to the Super Bowl

Peter King has bold predictions about the Dallas Cowboys team and players

The Dallas Cowboys are predicted to be champs, but not at the height that some may expect.

ESPN’s Peter King gave a mock analysis of the season. King has the Cowboys winning the NFC East and winning the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

“Dallas is the top seed not because I think the Cowboys are the runaway best team but because they’re good, because their front seven should be a monster and their offensive attack is very hard to stop, and because they’ve got six games against Cincinnati, Cleveland, the Giants, and Washington,” wrote King.

After the Cowboys, the order in the NFC will go to the Saints, Seahawks, Vikings, 49ers, Bucs, and Lions.

In terms of the postseason, King believes the Cowboys will not make the Super Bowl. King has Tom Brady leading the Bucs to the Super Bowl by defeating the Saints in the NFC Championship Game.

King has some other bold predictions as well. He has Prescott finishing second in the MVP race to Patrick Mahomes. He also believes Mike McCarthy will win NFL Coach of the Year.

“Jerry Jones hired McCarthy for his contending pedigree, and if Dallas wins the NFC’s top seed, McCarthy proved Jones right. I also think McCarthy’s quarterback-nerdiness will be a great add for Dak Prescott, who will have his best NFL season,” wrote King.

In other standings, King believes Prescott will finishing third for Offensive Player of the Year. King has DeAndre Hopkins winning with Mahomes coming in second.

King believes that CeeDee Lamb will finish third in Offensive Rookie of the Year, finishing behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Henry Ruggs.

Finally, King believes that newly signed defensive end Aldon Smith will win Comeback Player of the Year.
