Ezekiel Elliott, who has a knee injury, is questionable for Sunday’s Green Bay Packers game.
Although the Dallas Cowboys have not yet made a formal declaration, it appears that they are leaning towards sitting the running back.
ESPN’s Ed Werder stated that Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy does not “seem to expect” Elliott playing in the Week 10 matchup at Lambeau Field. Tony Pollard will likely be the featured backfield player.
While he wasn’t definitive, #Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy does not seem to expect RB Ezekiel Elliott to play vs #Packers today – his hyperextended right knee needing another week. Tony Pollard expected to start. He leads Dallas in rushing and TDs. pic.twitter.com/fngrVtHaHG

Elliott ran for three touchdowns in his two previous games before hyperextending his right leg. This season, the 27-year old has run 475 yards.
The Cowboys were able to keep up with him without any problems. Pollard, who was able to turn 14 carries into 131 yard and three touchdowns in a win 49-29 over the Chicago Bears, received the spotlight that many fans hoped for before Elliott’s injury.
Elliott didn’t get enough rest after his Week 9 bye. Werder reported the Cowboys are cautious, with a source saying that “any doubts he’s out.”
Dallas seemed to be preparing to play without Elliott when elevating running home Qadree Olson from Saturday’s practice squad. Elliott gave Malik Davis, a rookie, 10 touches against Chicago.
Before Sunday’s game at 4:25 pm, the Cowboys will give a definitive answer. ET.
