Since his arrival to the NFL, Cowboys linebacker is prone to neck injuries. The Dallas sideline was concerned when Vander Esch, 26, went down in Sunday’s first series.
“I’m concerned, obviously,” coach Mike McCarthy said after the game. “I think everybody is concerned based on his history. Miss him? Look at the way he played last week. He was a huge factor.”

Boise State’s fifth-year player entered the day with 90 tackles and a sack in 13 starts this season. He was also fresh from a 12tackle performance in Week 14.
Vander Esch sustained a neck injury in 2019, which forced him to withdraw from seven games. He also required season-ending surgery.
After playing in the last 30 games, the Cowboys can only pray that this injury isn’t as severe as previous ones.
