It wasn’t the start that Cowboys fans were hoping.
After leading the Los Angeles Rams at halftime, the Cowboys managed just three points in the second half. The Cowboys had the ball late in the fourth quarter with a chance to win but the offense was unable to convert.
To FS1’s Colin Cowherd, this was enough of a sample size to show that there is something wrong with the Cowboys on offense.
“There is something wrong with the Cowboys offense and you’re delusional if you can’t admit it. I’ve seen it over and over again,” Cowherd said Monday on The Herd.
According to Cowherd, it will never likely click for quarterback Dak Prescott and the offense. The Cowboys are aware of their miscues, via Ezekiel Elliott.
“We got to be better as an offensive unit. We got to convert those third downs and keep the ball moving. It’s got to be mandatory when we get to the red zone we score touchdowns,” Elliott told reporters after the game.
Leading up to Week 1, Cowherd blasted the Cowboys on his radio show. His prediction already looks like it is taking its course.
“It’s going to be a very disappointing year in the state of Texas,” claimed Cowherd at the end of the segment.
Cowherd made the claim at the end of his segment on “Obvious Takes” on The Herd. Given how poor the NFC East was last year, being average will likely be good enough for the second year in a row.
The Cowboys will look to turn things around next week against the Atlanta Falcons.
