This Underrated WR Could be a Complete Draft Steal for Eagles

As the Philadelphia Eagles search for a wide receiver, it does not necessarily mean the team has to burn their first-round pick.

The Eagles were unable to find a replacement in free agency. To make matters worse, Alshon Jeffery reportedly wants out after finding out he was on the trade block for nearly a year. The Eagles are linked to taking a wide receiver in the first round, but could try and make a steal with this pick instead.

If top wideouts CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, or Henry Ruggs III are gone, Arizona State’s Brandon Aijuk could be a backup plan.

The former Sun Devils receiver looks to be a Day 2 selection since the NFL Combine. He ran a disappointing 4.50-second, 40-yard dash, but it was reported that he ran through a core muscle injury.

When watching game film, Aiyuk possesses explosiveness in his first step in the passing and return game. He has been comparable to a younger DeSean Jackson. The Eagles already have DeSean Jackson on the team, but he’s nothing like the 2009 version.

In 2019, Aiyuk finished with 65 receptions for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns. In the return game, he had 14 returns for 446 yards.

It sounds like he could bring back old memories of Jackson, A.K.A the Miracle at the Meadowlands.

Getting a top-tier receiver would be nice, but every team should have a backup plan, especially the Eagles. If the Eagles cannot get a top-tier receiver, then scooping up Aiyuk would be acceptable.
