Despite the fact that training camps are a month away, there are still many good free agents in the NFL.
Anthony Barr, a linebacker, is one of these free agents. He has been with the Minnesota Vikings for eight seasons and put up solid numbers.
He has had more than 55 total tackles in seven of the eight seasons and is a reliable run stuffer. He ended the 2021 season with 72 total tackles (38 alone), 2.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries. Five passes were also defended.
He is an impact player who can help any win-now side team next season.
The Dallas Cowboys are one of the win-now teams that could utilize him. Bleacher Report’s Alex Carr believes that Dallas will sign him before training camps open up.
Carr stated that Anthony Barr should be able to find a home quickly, given his skillset and the Dallas Cowboys needs this offseason.
“When healthy, the 6’5″, 257-pound playmaker can line up and make an impact at several positions. The Cowboys would have the option to deploy him as an extra pass-rusher on the edge or in a more traditional linebacker role.”
Barr could be gotten for a bargain price if they are able to get it.
As July approaches, we’ll see if Cowboys are interested.
