During the opening week of training camp, the Kansas City Chiefs added a former Pro Bowler as a member of their defense.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Kansas City has signed Carlos Dunlap, a pass-rusher, to a one year deal worth as much as $8 million.
Schefter stated that Dunlap visited Wednesday night. The two sides reached an agreement quickly.

Kansas City was unable to press the quarterback last season and picked up the NFL’s fourth-fewest number of sacks (31). Dunlap procured 8.5 sacks for the Seattle Seahawks last season despite playing just 38 percent of the defense’s snaps
Former Cincinnati Bengals star Dunlap also provides Kansas City durability. Dunlap has been a regular-season player in all except for three games since 2013. From 2013 to 2018, he played six consecutive seasons without missing any games and was a regular starter in every contest.
Dunlap will join a defensive line that includes Chris Jones, Frank Clark and George Karlaftis, the first-round draft pick. Dunlap has not participated in a playoff victory in six attempts, but that could change in Kansas City.
