There are many options for running backs in the Dallas Cowboys heading into the 2022 season. They’re also adding a veteran to their ranks to add some depth.
Ian Rapoport, an NFL insider, reports that the Cowboys have signed running back Ryan Nall to a contract. Nall, who plays primarily on special team teams, has spent the past three seasons with Chicago Bears.
Nall was a running back and didn’t provide much value to the Bears. In three seasons, Nall, an Oregon State undrafted free agent, had nine receptions for 71 yard and a touchdown. He also ran 12 yards.
After all, it is possible that Nall will end up playing more special teams for the Cowboys. In each of his three seasons, he has participated in over 60% of special teams snaps. Nall has nine career tackles, and one fumble recovery.

The Cowboys now have seven running backs with Ryan Nall. Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard, and Rico Dowdle are their top options at halfback. Fullbacks are Nick Ralston and Sewo Olonilua.
To earn a place in the running backs room, Nall will need to stand out from the rest. However, there are a few more options that will help.
