Cowboys waive quarterback to make room for Andy Dalton
The quarterback position on the depth chart was bound to shrink after the Dallas Cowboys signed Andy Dalton.
Dalton signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Cowboys after spending nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. His contract features $3 million guaranteed. He will serve as Dak Prescott’s backup in the league.
Since the Cowboys brought in Dalton and drafted James Madison’s Ben DiNucci in the seventh round, the Cowboys had zero interest in carrying four quarterbacks. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys will part ways with former backup Cooper Rush.

Rush has two passing yards in his career, but according to the team’s former safety Kavon Frazier, the Cowboys made the wrong decision. Frazier took to Twitter to express his reaction.
“Yall sleep on Cooper Rush.”
Former wide receiver Dez Bryant agrees. Bryant has been criticizing the move of bringing in Dalton as well, and he posted on Twitter that he does believe Rush can play in the league.

“I like Cooper rush I think he can play in this league”
Bryant took to Twitter to completely disagree with the decision.
“Nothing against Andy dalton because I think he’s a great player..but the cowboys are extremely out of line… Pay Dak… I watched the cowboys pay Tony Twice once without a winning rec… I guess the cowboys viewing the QB position a plug in piece because of the dominant offense.”
