The Chiefs needed to make room for Danny Shelton, their nose tackle. After being on the market for free agents, he joined the Chiefs Monday morning.
Johnson Jr. played in 44 games during the last three seasons, all with the Texans. He has accumulated 172 total tackles (28 solo), three interceptions and 13 passes defensed in those games.
His best season was 2020, when he had 76 tackles total (56 solo).
Johnson Jr. is likely to be picked up by another team with this kind of resume.
