On Wednesday, the Chiefs could have suffered a major blow to their passing game. Wide receiver Mecole Hartman sustained a leg injury during a red zone play.
After leaping for the ball, Hardman fell awkwardly. After being lifted from the field, he was taken to the medical tent.
Hardman’s injury is still too severe to be diagnosed at this time.
The Chiefs must be concerned that one of their best wideouts could miss the start of the season.

Hardman, 24 years old, is about to enter his fourth season with Chiefs. With Tyreek Hill on the Dolphins, Hardman is expected to assume a bigger role.
Hardman caught 59 passes for 693 yards and two touchdowns in the 2021 season.
The Chiefs will require JuJu SmithSchuster or Marquez Valdes Scantling to fill in for Hardman if he is unavailable for a prolonged period.
The Chiefs will have an update on Hardman’s injury this week.
