The Dallas Cowboys must find a new kicker quickly.
The Cowboys have put starting kicker Greg Zuerlein onto the reserve/COVID-19 roster. They don’t currently have a backup.
Dallas will hold a kicking trial this week in order to provide another option for Sunday’s match against the Falcons.
Zuerlein will, however, most likely not be present for the game. However, it is possible that he will still play. It will ultimately depend on whether he has been placed on the COVID-19 List due to a positive test result or close contact.
The Cowboys announced that kicker Greg Zuerlein was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 List Tuesday by the team.
“Currently, the club does not have a backup kicking option for the active roster or practice team heading into Sunday’s match against the Falcons. But they will look to improve their depth at some point in the week.”

After Greg Zuerlein’s struggles in the season opener against Tampa Bay, the Cowboys brought in kicker Lirim Hajrullahu. They will likely contact Hajrullahu again this week, in Zuerlein’s absence.
Zuerlein converted 14 of his 18 field goal attempts and 21 of his extra-point attempts. He has only hit one of his three 50 point field-goal attempts, but he’s made three of four from the 40 to 49 range and nine out of 10 from 30 to 39.
Cowboys must quickly find a temporary replacement for their kicking. They are expected to hold a tryout this week.
