Cowboys Linked To Longtime NFL All-Pro Wide Receiver

Fans were worried about their receiver corps after the Dallas Cowboys traded Amari Cooper, their starting wide receiver, to the Cleveland Browns in the offseason. One star wide receiver may be the solution to their problems.

Recently, the Cowboys were given strong odds of signing Julio Jones as a free wide receiver. Since March’s release by the Tennessee Titans, Jones has been a free agent. He is a seven-time Pro Bowler as well as a five-time All-Pro.

Bookies.com offers the Cowboys +550 odds of signing Jones. Only the Green Bay Packers (+325) or Indianapolis Colts (+350), have better odds of signing Jones.

Jones isn’t coming off his best season. This might give all but the most desperate of teams pause.

Jones was a Titans’ receiver who had 31 receptions for 434 yards, one touchdown and 10 games. These numbers were lower than Jones’ 2013 season when he only played five games.

Julio Jones was drafted 6th overall by the Atlanta Falcons in 2011 NFL Draft. He quickly became one of the NFL’s top receivers. He had 848 receptions, 12,896 yards, and 60 touchdowns over 10 seasons.

Jones was a seven-year veteran with more than 1,000 yards, three years with over 100 receptions and two seasons leading the league with receiving yards. He also led the league in catches.

Jones, however, has had a difficult time staying healthy well into his 30s. Jones will be 33 years old this season. He has missed almost half of the season in two consecutive years.

Jones would make a great fit for the Dallas Cowboys.
