The Dallas Cowboys have battled injury concerns throughout the season, but have prevailed for the most part.
The Cowboys have activated wide receiver Michael Gallup, who was in injured reserve. This is a crucial part of the season.
Gallup, who hasn’t played since Sept. 9 when he suffered a calf injury in the season opener against Tampa Bay, was activated from injured reserve on Saturday, the Cowboys announced. Gallup will be available for Sunday’s game at AT&T Stadium against the Falcons.
Gallup was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round. He has been healthy and happy. Gallup has 162 receptions for 2,493 yards, and 13 touchdowns over his entire career.
It’s clear that Amari Cooper , CeeDee lamb and CeeDee Lam are the best wide receivers in the world. Gallup should have plenty of opportunities to rebound from his mistakes and be a valuable target for Dak Preston down the stretch, as defenses will create game plans to limit their production.
The Cowboys’ final injury report was released Friday ahead of their matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Tyron Smith, left tackle, is out with an ankle injury. Cedric Wilson is in doubt with his shoulder injury.
Wilson was not able to practice Wednesday and Thursday. However, he was limited on Friday. Cowboys are coming off their second loss of season, a humiliating 30-16 defeat against Denver. Dallas was down 30-0 after scoring 16 points in the last quarter.
Smith, a perennial Pro Bowler played in Week 9 against Minnesota before he was forced to leave that game. Smith was out of the game against Denver the next week, which may explain the offense’s difficulties.
Defensive end Randy Gregory is also out of the lineup for Week 11. Due to a calf injury, the Dallas Cowboys put him on injured reserve.
Gregory’s injury will likely mean that Micah Parsons, a star rookie linebacker, will again be playing more. Parsons’ prolific play in filling in for Gregory was a big hit earlier this season.
Here’s the bad news. Now, here’s some good news for Dallas Cowboys fans. Amari Cooper (hamstring), limited in practice this week, does not have an injury designation. Although running back Ezekiel Elliott was restricted on Wednesday and Thursday, he continued to practice full-time Friday.
Defensive back Kendall Sheffield (hamstring), is the only Falcons player not listed. Linebacker Steven Means (knee), tight-end Lee Smith (back), and defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard are all questionable. John Cominsky, a fellow defensive lineman (shoulder), is also questionable.
The Dallas Cowboys will be looking to rebound from last week’s surprise loss to the Denver Broncos, against a Falcons team who has been much more consistent in recent weeks.
