Machota reported that the Cowboys have officially named DE Randy Gregory as their return from injury reserve. They also signed RB Ito Smith to their practice squad. Smith was a fourth round pick in 2018.
Pass rusher Gregory, 29, is expected to return to uniform against Washington this week. Gregory played his last game in Week 9, before sustaining a calf injury that sent him to the IR.
The 2021 season was a turning point for the former second-round Nebraska pick. Gregory continues to pace for a career high in sacks, and has been disruptive from the edge every time he’s lined-up this season.

Gregory should now be on the field in order to assist the Cowboys in potentially taking a major step towards securing the NFC East. 8-4 Dallas lost two of its three previous games, while WFT has a four-game winning streak.
It will be a great matchup when long-time division rivals face off in the early window on Sunday.
