Leaf Trading Cards is suing CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys wide receiver, for breach of contract. Mike Fisher from Cowboys Country first reported this news.
Leaf Trading Cards accuse Lamb of not fulfilling an agreement to autograph cards. Some orders were therefore not fulfilled.
Leaf Trading Cards CEO Brian Gray released a statement via Twitter.
Gray shared that Leaf filed the first lawsuit against an athlete to force the signing of an autograph agreement so customers who have redemptions do not have to replace theirs. Gray wrote . We hate this, but customers have to be protected here.
The trading card company is seeking damages as well as attorney fees.
Leaf asks for the court to serve Lamb the lawsuit at his Frisco, Texas home or at the Cowboys’ offices.
Lamb, 23 years old, is about to enter his third season with the NFL. The Oklahoma native had 153 receptions for 2,037 yards and 11 touchdowns in his previous two seasons.
