.Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys runningback, is likely to miss Sunday’s Week-8 contest due to a torn MCL. Clarence Hill Jr. reported that Elliott has a thigh bruise and will not play in the Week 8 game.
These injuries were sustained by Elliott during Cowboys’ Week 7 victory over the Detroit Lions.

A MRI showed that Elliott had suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain. Although Mike McCarthy, the head coach, hasn’t yet decided whether Elliott will be able to run again for this weekend’s matchup with the Chicago Bears. However, things don’t look promising.
Elliott was not allowed to practice Wednesday, and instead spent the entire session in Cowboys’ rehabilitation group.
“Trying to get stiffness out and get with training staff and seeing where it can get. I don’t know right now,” Elliott said when asked if he’ll play this weekend. “We still have a lot of time before Sunday. Just focused on getting on getting this knee as healthy as I can.”
It wouldn’t surprise that Elliott would sit out Week 9’s Cowboys bye week to take advantage of extra recovery time.
