After Ezekiel Elliott’s injury, Tony Pollard became the featured Cowboys running back. He is likely to have Cowboys Nation wondering if the switch should be permanent after his performance. Pollard was able to score three touchdowns against the Chicago Bears and he seemed barely impressed afterward.
Pollard coolly answered, “Nah. I know I’ll get more.”
This is a confident take by the Cowboys’ runningback. Pollard, despite spending most of his career under Elliott’s shadow, has shown time and again that he is a capable running back who can dominate when the situation calls for it. With Elliott out with an injury, Pollard was again a force to reckon with.
Pollard ran just 14 times to gain 131 yards and three touchdowns during the 49-29 defeat. He was the only 100-yard rusher in the game and it was his second consecutive century during the 2022 NFL season.
Pollard saw 14 carries despite Elliott being absent. This is two more than last week and three more than in Week 6.
Pollard anticipates seeing more of the endzone before the season ends. With each touchdown, he raises his price tag, with free agency coming after the 2022 season.
