Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb Addresses Arm Injury in Win Over Falcons

CeeDee Lamb proved his ankle was fine, but now another appendage is ailing.

The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver suffered an arm contusion in Sunday’s blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons. Although the injury was reported in the third quarter, it is believed that it occurred in the first half.

“CowboysWR CeeDee lamb (arm contusion), is not able to return. Believe it happened in the first half, but he went through it before the game and became totally drunk,” tweeted Michael Gehlken from the Dallas Morning News.

You wouldn’t know Lamb was hurt if he were. In the 43-3 blowout win at AT&T Stadium, Lamb was Dallas’ top receiver after he caught six passes for 94 yards. Lamb, as with much of the first-team offense’s offense, did not play in the final frame.

Lamb spoke to reporters after the game and said, “It felt like a charlie horses in my arm that kept nagging.” via CBS Sports’ Patrik Wade. He also mentioned that the second-year wideout was seen without any brace.

Despite his illness, Lamb was able to rewrite franchise records.

“CeeDee Lamb’s touchdown catched by Dak Prescott to start today’s game made him the fourth player in team’s history to receive 10 touchdowns in 25 games, joining Bob Hayes and Dez Bryant,” according to the Cowboys public relations department.

The Cowboys ran up 431 yards total offense, with 296 yards on the arm Dak Prescott, who completed 24 out of 31 passes and recorded a stunning 127.9 quarterback rating. Ezekiel Elliott, the running back, contributed two touchdowns via ground in addition to Lamb’s scores. Dallas led 36-3 at halftime.

“Dallas’ 33 point halftime lead (36-3), in today’s Cowboys game against Atlanta, is the largest halftime lead in a Cowboys match since a 35-point halftime advantage (38-3) against N.Y. Jets (12/4/71),” reported the PR team.

The Cowboys’ defense held the Falcons to just 214 yards, including just one through the air. They also twice turned over Matt Ryan, including the league-leading eighth pick from star cornerback Trevon Diggs.

“With that interception Trevon Diggs now holds eight interceptions through nine game, which ties Everson walls for the most picks through the initial nine games of a season,” the PR team reported.
