Cowboys quarterback Dak Preston won Sunday’s game but is losing a bet to defensive end DeMarcus Leaf.
Prescott stated that after Sunday’s win over the Giants, 21-6, Prescott and Lawrence had a bet on offensive touchdowns against defensive takeaways. The defense forced four turnovers on Sunday while the offense scored two touchdowns.
Prescott said that it was the third consecutive week in which the Cowboys had forced four turnovers. He also stated that the defense is “kicking their ass” and that he would like to see the offense close the gap between them.
Prescott stated, via Jori Epstein, USAToday.com: “We’re trying peak at the right moment, make sure that we’re heading into postseason with momentum playing some best ball,” “Our defense is doing this. Our offense has much to learn. We have high expectations and we are very high standards. We’ll keep going until we reach our goals. Then push on.”
The Cowboys will not lose the bet if their defense plays at its current level. However, getting the offense on the right track will increase the chances of the Cowboys staying in the playoffs.
