The Dallas Cowboys had only one quarterback available just 24 hours prior to their game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dak Prescott, the star quarterback, was the only one to make it onto the active roster prior to the season-opener. Until now.
Two key players were elevated by the Cowboys before kickoff on Saturday afternoon. The practice squad was elevated to include backup quarterback Cooper Rush, and starting kicker Brett Maher.
Here’s the announcement by the team.

Rush will replace Prescott in the event of an injury to the star quarterback. Cowboys fans were given a little shock when Prescott was added to the injured list earlier this week.
The team however made it clear that he would start on Sunday night.
At 8:20 p.m., Tampa Bay and Dallas will meet. ET on NBC
