It’s no secret that the Cowboys and Bryant appear to have a mended relationship. Since Bryant left the Cowboys, his NFL career has taken a hit. However, Bryant and owner Jerry Jones appear to have a great rapport still.
Bryant, who has over three million followers, opened up about his relationship with Jones.
“I think I’m the only player EVER to talk s–t to Jerry Jones…I think that’s why we love each other,” Bryant tweeted.
The two have gone back and forth in the past, but all for fun. Jones had an awkward response back in February when it came to a reunion with the former Pro Bowl wideout. Reporters asked if Jones would consider signing the former Cowboys wide receiver and Jones replied in a strange way.
“I’ve thought a lot about it in the shower,” said Jones.
It apparently didn’t bother Bryant too much as he replied “let’s do it” on Twitter.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Bryant texted Jerry’s son and Cowboys V.P. Stephen Jones about wanting to return.
“He has texted me that he would like to come back,” Jones said at the time “We have nothing but great respect for Dez and what he accomplished here. Certainly, as we look forward into the future we look at all opportunities and all potential players that could maybe help us out.”
Bryant has not played for the Cowboys since 2017. Bryant has worked out with both Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes in the offseason, but nothing has materialized.
The Cowboys have six wide receivers on their 53-man roster after claiming Malik Turner off waivers. A reunion does not look likely at this point.
