Count the Trump family out of the NFL if the league takes a knee.
Eric Trump, one of President Trump’s adult sons, took to Twitter to reveal his outrage upon hearing the news that the Dallas Cowboys could kneel during the national anthem.
According to the Washington Examiner, Cowboys officials “have given the green light to protest the anthem.” In response, Trump proclaimed “that football is officially dead” and that he is gone from watching the league.
The Cowboys have yet to do any action but just a report was enough to “trigger” someone into a boycott. What makes matters worse for Trump is that EA Sports announced that Colin Kapernick was brought back to Madden “21.
Maybe, there’s a boycott from video games too.
Quarterback Dak Prescott has made it clear that he is not going to be too worried about anyone that has a problem with the protests.
Last Wednesday, Prescott was asked about his thoughts on players around the league standing or kneeling for the national anthem. He had this to say:
“It’s about expressing yourself,” Prescott said, via USA Today. “I wouldn’t say it’s going to be about expressing one idea. That’s where we are as a country right now. Individuals have different thoughts, different perceptions and different feelings than their neighbor. So for you to force your opinion and your perceptions on somebody I think isn’t very important right now.”
Prescott cited that the USA is a country of freedom and that allows us to express ourselves in various ways.
“That’s what this country is about the freedom to do that, the freedom to express yourself. As we heard Mr. Jones talk about grace and sharing grace and having grace with players in what they want to do. If I had it my way, that’s exactly what we’d do: Express ourselves individually but love and support one another collectively.”
Maybe, Trump will open up a Netflix account.
